RRB CEN 01/2026 was the Railway Recruitment Boards’ recruitment notice for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP). This page is a candidate guide to the official notice, eligibility, medical standard, application steps and documents. It is useful for checking the rules and for preparing for the next ALP notification. It is not an open application form.
सीधी बात: इस CEN में ALP के 11,127 posts थे. आवेदन सिर्फ online हुआ था, एक candidate सिर्फ एक RRB चुन सकता था, और final qualification closing date तक होनी जरूरी थी.

Who was eligible?
The detailed CEN required the prescribed educational or technical qualification for ALP on or before the closing date. Candidates waiting for final results were not eligible under the notice. The exact post parameters and accepted trades are in Annexure A of the official PDF, so candidates should not rely on a coaching-site list when the next CEN is issued.
The notice set the age range at 18 to 30 years as on 1 July 2026. Category, ex-serviceman and other relaxations were governed by the CEN. The post carried A-1 medical requirements. Candidates with medical concerns should read the medical section before applying; the notice also states that a medically unsuitable candidate would not receive an alternative appointment for this post.
Medical and eyesight checks
ALP is not a general clerical post. The CEN contains medical standards and a self-screening declaration covering speech and hearing, eyesight, mental fitness, pre-existing conditions and corrective eye surgery. The FAQ says candidates who have undergone LASIK are not eligible for posts requiring A-1 medical standards. The application module generated a medical report, which the FAQ says had to be signed by a General Physician and Eye Specialist and submitted on CBAT day.
How the application worked
- Open the ALP application link from an official RRB website.
- Create an account, or use the existing account credentials where the CEN instructions allowed it.
- Enter personal details, education and other required information.
- Choose one RRB and then select preferences for the notified railway zones under that RRB.
- Upload the required profile documents, photograph and signature, and complete the live-photo step in the application module.
- Review the preview carefully before submitting it for fee payment.
- Pay the applicable examination fee and save the confirmation, registration number and submitted form.
The FAQ specifically advised using a desktop or laptop because some application features might not work correctly on a mobile phone. It also warned candidates not to submit multiple applications to the same RRB or to more than one RRB. Multiple applications could lead to rejection and debarment from future RRB and RRC examinations.

Selection stages
The CEN contents list the recruitment process, normalisation of marks, CBT stages, CBAT, document verification and medical examination.
