IIT Hyderabad’s CLEANZ Centre of Excellence has invited applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to work on coal supply-chain optimization using Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI. The position is initially for one year and may be extended after a performance review.

Essential qualification

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence or Generative AI.
  • BE/BTech or equivalent in Chemical, Metallurgical, Mining or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least three publications in Scopus-indexed journals.
  • The notice says candidates should not have published in predatory journals.

Desirable profile

  • Research or industrial experience in advanced AI, generative modelling or clean-coal technology.
  • Good academic record.
  • Good technical writing and communication skills.

What will you work on?

  • Develop a research product or outcome at TRL 5/6.
  • Model and optimize coal supply chains using AI and generative methods.
  • Review literature and coordinate with the research team.
  • Prepare reports and research articles and help manage laboratory work.
  • Interact with sponsoring agencies and travel for project execution if needed.

Add links to your strongest relevant papers. Do not claim a publication is Scopus-indexed unless you have checked it.

Interview preparation

  • Be ready to explain one AI or Generative AI project from problem statement to measurable result.
  • Revise forecasting, optimization, uncertainty modelling and supply-chain fundamentals.
  • Prepare a two-minute explanation of how your research could produce a TRL 5/6 outcome.
  • Read about CLEANZ CoE and connect your experience to clean-coal or industrial supply-chain problems.

Other conditions

  • CLEANZ will not provide accommodation.
  • IIT Hyderabad accommodation may be available subject to availability and applicable norms; the HRA component would then be handled according to the notice.
